An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet IS-2 heavy tank model 1944 in 1:56 scale (about 28 mm) from the manufacturer Italeri. The set is conceived as a simplified quick-build kit with a smaller number of parts, suitable for gaming as well as for collecting. The smaller scale and the easy build make it an undemanding project.
The IS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank of the closing stage of the Second World War, named after Joseph Stalin. The model 1944 version carried a massive 122 mm gun intended for fighting fortifications as well as heavy armor. The IS-2 was among the most heavily armed tanks of its day.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a knife and clean up the seams. Use liquid modeling cement for the plastic. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush makes an even coat easier. Washes and pigments will add weathering and bring out the details.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
