An advent calendar with a model of the X-Wing fighter in 1:57 scale, the 2021 edition, assembled without glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
An advent calendar joins the countdown to Christmas Eve with building a model. Behind twenty-four doors the parts and accessories are uncovered one after another, so the model is born day by day and stands finished at the end of Advent. The 2021 edition is devoted to the X-Wing fighter, one of the best-known machines of the Star Wars world, and is worked out in 1:57 scale.
The model belongs to the group of kits without glue: the parts are joined by snapping together, so basic assembly needs neither glue nor special tools. That makes the calendar a suitable gift for younger modelers too, and for anyone who wants to enjoy a model without waiting for joints to dry. The exact procedure and the recommendations are given in the instructions enclosed with the calendar.
It pays to put a bowl or a small box aside for the small parts on the very first day, so that nothing goes missing over the four weeks. Snap the parts together calmly and without force; when a joint will not go, check whether the pieces really belong together. Anyone who wants to take the model further can paint the surface once it is assembled, but that is not needed to finish it. Plan any painting with thought: some areas are hard to reach once assembled, so it pays to decide before a part snaps into place. The finished model deserves a permanent place out of direct sunlight, so that the plastics do not yellow.
The calendar is suitable as a gift for Star Wars fans and for families who want a shared ritual through Advent. Paints and other modeling supplies are not included, unless stated otherwise.
