Aber 1:700 – a set of 12 turned metal barrels of 140 mm caliber for models of the battlecruiser Hood replaces the plastic barrels of the secondary battery with a faithful metal substitute.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for building plastic models in 1:700 scale, not a standalone model. The set holds twelve precisely turned metal barrels of 140 mm caliber intended for the secondary armament of the British battlecruiser Hood. It is made by the Polish brand Aber, which specializes in precision upgrade parts.
The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from the kit out of the box. The visible parting seam left by gluing two plastic halves together is gone, and thanks to the turning the muzzle is perfectly on the axis and clean. The result is markedly more realistic and adds fineness to a model.
The procedure is straightforward: the original plastic barrel is cut off, a hole is drilled in the remaining part of the turret and the metal barrel is glued in with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend working with tweezers and degreasing the metal before any paint goes on.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of a ship. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
