MASTER USN 8in/55 Mark 12 – turned barrels (1:700) is a set of nine accurate turned brass barrels for the American heavy cruiser gun of 203 mm (8 inch) caliber. A replacement detail for a build, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains nine turned brass barrels for the American 203 mm (8 inch) heavy naval gun of 55 calibers length, the Mark 12 type, in 1:700 scale. The metal barrels from MASTER replace the plastic parts and give the triple turrets a sharp, accurate outline. It is not a ship model but a detail accessory.
The 203 mm (8 inch) 55 calibers Mark 12 gun was the main armament of American heavy cruisers. It was carried by the later build of the New Orleans class and by other American heavy cruisers, usually in triple turrets.
Cut off the plastic barrels, clean up the turret faces and glue the turned parts in with cyanoacrylate. Nine pieces match three triple turrets. Treat the metal with a primer before painting.
The set contains only the turned barrels. The ship model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
