MASTER USN 8in/55 (20.3 cm) Mark 9 - turned barrels 1:700 is a set of nine brass barrels for models of American heavy cruisers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of nine precisely turned brass barrels of 8 inch (20.3 cm) caliber, the Mark 9 type, for models of American heavy cruisers in 1:700 scale. The metal barrels replace the soft and inaccurate plastic parts from a kit and give the gun armament a crisp, realistic shape and the correct muzzle profile. MASTER is a Polish maker of turned accessories.
The 8in/55 Mark 9 guns formed the main armament of the American heavy cruisers of the interwar and wartime generation - the Lexington, Pensacola and Northampton classes, the early New Orleans and the Indianapolis. A set of nine barrels corresponds to the typical arrangement of three triple turrets. The barrels are fitted in place of the plastic parts in the turrets of the kit.
Cut the plastic barrels off and clean up the openings in the turrets. Glue the brass barrels in with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and take care that all the barrels protrude equally and line up level. Metal is easy to clean up and to paint.
This is a metal accessory, not a ship kit. Neither the model nor glue is included in the package.
