A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the Soviet T-34 medium tank with a 76 mm gun, in the 1942 model form. It is the first part of a line which the supplier ties thematically to the fighting at Stalingrad and Kharkov. Tactical numbers, inscriptions and insignia are the only thing that brings an otherwise monotonous dark green area on a tank model to life, and a sheet devoted to one version offers substantially more of them than the enclosure of a kit.
The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank whose strong points were sloped armor, wide tracks and a simple design suited to mass production. The form with a 76 mm gun formed the backbone of the Soviet armored units in the first years of the war. The machines were built in several factories at once and differed in details, so the model designation matters for the choice of model as well as of decals.
Sheets of this kind are usually applied as wet decals: even the area under them out with a gloss varnish, cut the motif out close to the image, immerse it for a moment in lukewarm water and, once it releases from the backing paper, move it into place. Straighten it with a soft brush, draw the excess water off and let it dry; finally cover it with a matte varnish, so that the glossy edge disappears. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is irretrievably ruined, whereas a wet decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later.
The kit of the tank, paints and varnishes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
