A set of AGM-86 cruise missiles, launched from an aircraft, in 1:72 scale. An accessory for models of bombers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AGM-86 is an American cruise missile that an aircraft releases far from the target and that then flies low and on its own. In the folded state it has a cylindrical shape with its surfaces lying against it, and after release it swings out its wing and tail surfaces. That is precisely why it looks one way on a model hung under the wing and another in flight, which can be made use of during the build.
This is a set of missiles in 1:72 scale intended to complete a model of a carrying aircraft. The missiles are hung under the wing or in the fuselage, depending on how the particular kit handles it. Check the number of pieces and whether the set also contains racks in the manufacturer's material.
The set consists of small elongated parts with which it pays to work one at a time and to watch the symmetry. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest with fine sandpaper, so as not to touch the shape of the missile. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Fit the hung missiles only once the lower surfaces of the model have been sprayed, otherwise neither a brush nor a nozzle will reach them.
The set suits builders of models of bombers who want the external stores to be more faithful and the same on both sides. It will also find a use in a diorama on an airfield apron, where the missiles lie on a trolley beside the aircraft. The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
