An injection-molded plastic kit of an armored railway flatcar for carrying a vehicle (DTR) from UM in 1:72 scale. The set holds the flatcar with its running gear and the matching parts; photo-etched parts and a decal sheet are included depending on the release. The model will complement a railroad scene as well as the consist of an armored train.
Railway flatcars served to carry armored vehicles and equipment along the rails, often as part of train consists. They made it possible to move a vehicle quickly and put it into action away from the track. It was in effect an auxiliary railroad means for logistics and support. The model captures the typical layout of such a flatcar.
First assemble the running gear and the bogies of the flatcar, and only then the superstructure. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Lay the paints on with an airbrush and bring the surfaces to life with weathering from washes and pigments, especially on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
