An injection-molded plastic kit of the Avia B.534 version I in 1:72 scale. It is the early form of the first production series with an open cockpit, which differs from the later series with an enclosed canopy. The kit is short-run and holds plastic moldings, clear parts and a decal sheet. Take the exact contents of the box and the number of schemes from the actual moldings.
The Avia B.534 was a Czechoslovak fighter biplane of the 1930s and one of the best fighter biplanes of its day. It was powered by a license-built Hispano-Suiza V12 engine and armed with machine guns. Its construction was mixed, with fabric-covered surfaces, characteristic bracing wires and struts between the wings. The aircraft formed the backbone of Czechoslovak fighter aviation at the time of the Munich crisis and later served with other air arms as well.
This is a short-run kit, better suited to more experienced modelers: expect to clean up the moldings, sand the casting blocks and dry-fit the parts before gluing. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. The bracing wires between the wings are the key: seat the struts precisely and add the wires with fine wire or thread, for example. Apply primer before painting; the camouflage and the national markings go on well with an airbrush, and a light wash will bring out the panel detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
