An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale with additional resin parts, released in short-run production by FLY. This is a what-if version of the experimental Avrocar machine in the fictional racing finish of the Racer X range. This package carries its own set of fictional markings.
The Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar was a real experimental flying saucer of the late 1950s, developed as a vertical takeoff machine driven by a stream of air from a central rotor. In reality it never reached high speeds or altitudes and the program was stopped. The Racer X range carries this unusual shape over into a fictional world of air racing.
This is a short-run mold, so expect to clean up the parts and prepare the mating surfaces more carefully. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The bold racing finish comes out well sprayed with an airbrush and carefully masked.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
