1:72 Bengal Lancers Anglo-Boer War is a set of unpainted figures of Bengal lancers in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Strelets-R. The mounted figures of soft plastic are intended for painting and for colonial dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs to the colonial part of the historical figure line of Strelets-R and brings mounted figures in 1:72 scale. They are supplied unpainted in soft plastic and are intended for deburring, priming and painting. This is an addition to a scene, not a kit of hardware. We recommend taking the placement in a particular conflict that the name suggests with reserve.
Bengal lancers belonged to the cavalry regiments of the British Indian army and their main weapon was the lance, supplemented by a saber and a firearm. A characteristic feature of these units was the turban and a uniform combining European cut with local elements, which differed from regiment to regiment. The cavalry lance with its pennant is at the same time the element by which these figures are recognized in a scene at first glance.
Take the greatest care with the lances. They are the thinnest parts in the set, bend easily and crack while being deburred, so handle them as little as possible and clean them up right at the end, ideally with a sharp scalpel drawn along the length of the part. Soft plastic tends to return to a deformed shape, so straighten a bent lance carefully in warm water and let it cool in the position required. Wash the figures before painting and prime them with a thin primer. Seat the riders on the horses only after painting the saddle and the flanks, otherwise you will not reach those places. Paint the pennants on the lances separately and cleanly, because they draw the eye more than the whole of the rest of the figure.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
