The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a single-seat fighter and, throughout the Second World War, the backbone of the German fighter force. Version E, known among modelers by the nickname Emil, was the first to arise in large numbers. Its powerplant was the liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12 engine, and at first glance it is given away by the squarely cut wing and the angular frame of the cockpit canopy.
Sitzkrieg is the established name for the quiet months on the Western Front after the outbreak of the war in 1939, when the two sides stood against each other but no great fighting took place. The designation of the set therefore aims at this period. The particular machines, markings and color schemes the package offers are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts for assembling a model of the Bf 109E-3 in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The number of parts, their material and the procedure of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions; choose the glue and the paints according to them as well.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade and sand the remainder after separation, so that the half of the fuselage seats with no gap. Paint the cockpit and fit it before you close the fuselage up; later you will no longer get at it. Do not glue the clear parts with superglue, as it would turn them white. Mask the frames of the canopy with tape before spraying, not only after the paint has dried. A small model forgives little, so it pays to sand the joints twice.
Paints, glue and putty are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
