Decals in 1:72 scale for a model of the Bristol Beaufighter Mk. 21, the version used by the Royal Australian Air Force. The aircraft model is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Beaufighter was one of those machines that earned their reputation attacking at sea level. The twin-engine aircraft with a crew of two and Bristol Hercules radial engines carried its armament concentrated in the front of the fuselage, to which rockets and bombs were later added. It worked in that role in the Pacific as well, where the Mk. 21 version from Australian production served in the air force there. Attacks on vessels and on ground positions were flown from low altitude, so the machines put up with salt spray, dust from field airfields and quick wear of their paint; for a modeler that is a chance to give a finished piece some character.
Decals in 1:72 scale for building a model of the Beaufighter in the Mk. 21 version. The extent of the sheet and the number of marking variants is described in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
The sheet is a classic wet decal. Cut the subject out closely, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and wait until the film releases from the backing paper. Apply it onto smooth gloss varnish. Small warning and maintenance markings are fragile in a small scale, so move them with a damp brush and do not try to grip the film with tweezers. A decal softener will settle them into engraved lines, and once dry even the surface out with a covering coat of varnish.
For modelers who build Allied aircraft in 1:72 scale and want to give a machine a particular look. The package holds a decal sheet; the aircraft model, the paints and the varnish do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
