About product

Friulmodel Challenger 2 Late Type Track - metal track links

This is a set of metal, white metal, assembled track links from Friulmodel, intended for the British Challenger 2 tank in the late type of track. It is NOT a kit of the vehicle but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic or rubber tracks from the box of a model. The individual links are joined with the wire supplied, which forms the pins; the weight of the metal gives the track a realistic sag between the road wheels.

The real subject and its use

The Challenger 2 is a British main battle tank; the late type of track matches the upgraded form of the vehicle. Metal workable tracks raise the realism markedly, they hold their shape while being weathered and they follow the running gear better than the tracks from the box. The set is intended for a matching model of the Challenger 2 tank in the same scale.

Building and painting tips

Clean the links of flash carefully, assemble them on the wire pins and secure the ends. Degrease the metal surface first and go over it with a primer suited to metal. For the final look a dark base, dry brushing on the metal edges and earth pigments for mud and dust laid on prove themselves.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the Challenger 2 who want realistic metal tracks
  • Advanced builders of military equipment
  • Anyone after the fullest detail on the running gear
  • Modelers who weather mud and dust effects

This is a detail accessory, metal track links, not a complete model. The base model of the tank, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
