A warning right at the start that every customer deserves: despite the coincidence of name, this product has nothing to do with the German tank of the same designation. It is a small civilian aircraft and belongs among aircraft. The kit is short-run and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Leopard was a British project for a small four-seat aircraft with two jet engines that was to offer the performance of a business jet in a substantially smaller and less costly package. The airframe was designed in composite materials, with very clean aerodynamics and a slim fuselage. Only prototypes were built, the second of them with more powerful engines and revised shaping, and series production never began. It is that unusual silhouette that makes the Leopard a rewarding addition to a collection of unconventional aircraft.
The model is small, so the cleanness of the surface matters all the more. Fill and sand the fuselage smooth, because a single-color gloss surface will reveal every irregularity. The cockpit is fairly large relative to the size of the aircraft and can be seen into, so it pays to suggest the interior at least with paint and a simple band for the instrument panel. Polish and mask the clear part and fit the canopy only after the finish has been applied. Dry-fit the small engine nacelles and sand the mating surfaces down if need be. Consider a nose weight. A small model overall looks good on a simple stand, which emphasizes its unusual shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
