This is a resin set of replacement wheels for a model of the British supersonic fighter aircraft the English Electric Lightning in 1:72 scale. The set is not a standalone aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the injection-molded plastic wheels from the box with more faithfully cast resin parts with a fine tire tread pattern and a well-rendered rim.
Cast wheels look more realistic than plastic parts and are usually done with the load suggested, with a slightly flattened contact patch, so that the aircraft sits naturally on its landing gear. The wheels are used when building a model of the Lightning from the Airfix kit in this scale.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand the contact patches down. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
