This is not a model of a vehicle but a resin accessory. The set relates to the front part of the hull of the Elephant heavy tank destroyer, that is to the driver's position, and is cast in 1:72 scale. The particular contents of the package are stated on the box.
The Elephant had its engine section in the middle of the hull and the crew divided: the driver and the radio operator sat at the front, separated from the fighting compartment with the main weapon at the rear. That is precisely why the front of the hull with the driver's vision device is a separately legible area on a model; it is at the front, clearly visible and much looked at. In a plastic kit in 1:72 scale this area tends to be simplified, because the mold does not allow sharp edges and deeper pressings in such a small area. The parts are shaped for the Trumpeter kit.
The castings come embedded in casting blocks. Do not snap a block off, as with small parts the material of the part itself breaks too; use a fine-toothed saw or a knife and finish the cut only once level with the surface of the part. Before you glue or paint anything, rinse the whole fret in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry: a residue of mold release agent is the most frequent reason why paint peels off resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally applied on the tip of a toothpick rather than straight onto the part from the bottle. It pays to paint at the stage when the part is still accessible, as once the hull is closed up you will not get into the front area.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
