Reskit 1:72 F-15I/K - closed exhaust nozzles is a resin replacement for the plastic nozzles for models of the export two-seat F-15 versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory in 1:72 scale meant for models of the two-seat strike F-15 versions designated F-15I and F-15K. The nozzles are in the closed position of the flaps. It is an aftermarket replacement for a kit part, not a kit itself; without the plastic model the set is of no use.
On a model of a twin-engined fighter the tail is the most exposed place. The plastic nozzles from a kit usually have thick edges and a flat, poorly articulated interior, because otherwise they could not be taken out of the mold. A resin nozzle is cast by a different technology and manages sharp edges and the structure of the flaps through its whole depth. In the closed position the worked-up interior is less visible, but the symmetry and the thinness of the outline at the end of the fuselage stand out all the more.
The procedure is the same as with any resin: wash the mold release agent off, cut the casting block off with a saw, level the mating surface, sand wet and glue with super glue. Try fitting the part dry into the fuselage first and ease any overhang rather on the nozzle than on the plastic, as repairing a plastic tail is more laborious. Build the painting up in layers: a metal base, then fine toning with darker and warmer shades toward the end of the nozzle, and finally a matte wash in the seams between the flaps. Metal paints are harder to mask and to spray over, so leave them until the end of the build.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
