A set of painting masks in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer New Ware, made of fine kabuki (washi) film. The ADVANCED version is the extended one and besides the canopy glazing it also covers other parts, such as the wheels and clear or small areas. The masks cover several versions of the Phantom II (B, C, D, E, EJ, G and J). It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model.
Masking the cockpit frames exactly tends to be one of the most demanding parts of a build. The pre-cut kabuki masks follow the shape of the frames exactly, so after spraying you get a clean, crisp edge with no laborious laying down of strips. The extended version speeds the masking of other details up as well.
Degrease the parts and apply the masks to a clean surface, pressing the edges down firmly so that no paint creeps underneath. Spray with an airbrush in thin coats; take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried for the crispest edge. The kabuki film follows rounded surfaces well.
This is a set of painting masks (an accessory). Paints and the kit are not included in the package.
