The F-4 Phantom II is a twin-engine two-seat jet aircraft that came about in the 1950s and became one of the most widespread combat aircraft of its generation. The F-4EJ version is the Japanese variant of the F-4E: it was built under license in Japan and adapted to the requirements of the Air Self-Defense Force, above all for the interceptor role. The characteristic features of the type are the upswept wingtips, the drooped tailplane and the two engines in the fuselage. The Japanese machines served for several decades and some of them went through an upgrade program that extended their service life.
On the Phantom the crucial thing is a conscientious fit of the air intakes and the joint of the fuselage halves; this is where seams appear that can no longer be hidden once painted, so fill and sand before the finish goes on. Finish the cockpit and close it up before you close up the fuselage; glue the clear parts with a glue intended for canopies so that they do not cloud. Lay a gloss coat down before the decals and, once they have dried, secure them with a matte or semi-gloss overcoat according to the scheme. For the panel lines use a liquid paneliner, which runs into the engraving by capillary action. Prepare and paint the underwing stores and the tanks separately and fit them at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
