This set contains drop tanks cast in resin for the American carrier-based fighter and attack aircraft F/A-18A/C Hornet in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that is hung on the wing and fuselage pylons of a base Hornet model. The manufacturer is the Czech brand Aerobonus (Aires), which concentrates on resin accessories for aircraft models.
Drop tanks extend the range and the combat radius of the Hornet, and on carrier as well as land missions they belong to its typical equipment. The F/A-18 Hornet usually carries these tanks on the wing pylons as well as on the fuselage station; it is a common element of its configuration both on transits and in combat deployment.
First wash the remains of the mold release agent off the parts, carefully separate the casting blocks and sand the parting lines. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply primer before painting; match the shade and the markings to the color scheme of the particular aircraft you are fitting the tanks to.
