About product

DK Decals 1:72 Fighter bombers Part I — decal sheet

This sheet of wet (water-activated) decals from DK Decals brings the markings of Allied fighter-bombers of the Second World War in 1:72 scale. It is not a model but a set of decals for finishing your models in a particular historical guise. This first part of the series focuses on a varied mix of British, South African and American machines deployed on ground support and deep-penetration raids across the European and Mediterranean theaters.

What the sheet offers

  • Markings for several different aircraft types, among them the Hawker Hurricane, the Hawker Typhoon, the Supermarine Spitfire and the American P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang
  • A combination of British, South African (SAAF) and American squadrons
  • Various camouflage schemes and individual machine codes

Application tips

  • Apply the decals over a smooth gloss varnish so that no silvering occurs.
  • Use a softener so that they settle onto panel lines and curved surfaces.
  • Even the surface out at the end with a matte clear varnish.

Who the sheet is for

  • For builders of Allied fighter-bombers in 1:72 scale
  • For anyone interested in less usual schemes from Italy, the Balkans and other fronts
  • For modelers looking for an alternative to the decals in the box

The package contains decals only. Models, paints and glue are not included.
