This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale presents the German ground-attack aircraft Focke-Wulf Fw 190F-2 in the Schlachtflugzeug version, that is as an assault machine. The package contains plastic runners, a clear canopy part and decals for several Luftwaffe marking options. Mistercraft is a Polish brand offering kits from proven older tooling.
The F version was the ground-attack counterpart of the Fw 190A fighter with the BMW 801 radial engine. Compared with the fighter version it had reinforced armor around the pilot and under the fuselage and racks for bombs. It was committed to the direct support of ground troops, above all on the Eastern Front, where it gradually replaced the Ju 87 dive bomber. Thanks to the rugged radial engine it stood up well to hits during low-level attacks.
Glue the plastic with thin cement, mask the clear canopy part and sand the seams down. After primer, paint with an airbrush; period RLM shades and weathering from service in field conditions (washes, dust) suit it well. On this older tooling, check the fit of the parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
