An Aber 1:72 75 mm StuK 40 L/48 barrel with the middle muzzle brake is a turned metal part that replaces the plastic barrel on a model of a German assault gun. It is an accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned brass barrel in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand Aber, made with the middle type of muzzle brake. It is a detail accessory to a plastic model of a German assault gun, not the model itself. Machined metal gives the barrel a perfectly circular cross section, a sharp transition to the muzzle brake and a genuinely drilled muzzle, all of which are hard to achieve on a split plastic barrel.
The 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 gun of 75 mm caliber was the main weapon of the later German assault guns. A long barrel 48 calibers in length fundamentally raised the anti-tank effectiveness of machines that had originally come about as escort support for infantry. During series production the muzzle brake went through several changes of shape and of manufacturing technique; the middle version stands between the early and the late form and is typical of vehicles from the middle phase of production.
Cut off the plastic barrel with a saw, level the cut surface and open the hole in the mantlet out with a hand drill if needed. Degrease the brass part with alcohol and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy. It pays to seat the barrel dry first and check the alignment, and only then to use the glue for good. Lay down a base coat for metal before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth brass and rubs off while the model is handled.
The set is an accessory to a kit; the model of the vehicle itself is not included in the package. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
