1:72 Ju 87 B-2/U4 Stuka with ski landing gear is a plastic kit of the winter modification of the German dive bomber from the maker Zvezda.

The kit captures the Junkers Ju 87 in the B-2 version with the U4 modification, that is, with ski landing gear instead of the usual spatted wheels. This is a plastic model in 1:72 scale, that is, in the size that makes it possible to build whole collections of aircraft of the Second World War in a uniform scale without taking up much room. The ski modification makes this release an interesting variant even for someone who already has one Stuka in a display case.
The Ju 87 was a single-engine two-seat dive bomber with a characteristic inverted gull wing and fixed, spatted landing gear. Compared with the first series, the B version had a more powerful Junkers Jumo engine and a modified cockpit. The designation U4 meant a conversion set, specifically the replacement of the wheeled landing gear with skis. This modification was intended for operation from snow-covered and unpaved surfaces, where wheels would sink in. The skis were mounted in place of the wheels into the same legs, which changed the outline of the lower part of the aircraft and slightly also its flying qualities and drag.
The most sensitive place is the landing gear. Seat the skis on a flat surface and watch that the model stands straight and both skis seat equally, otherwise the result will be crooked in a display case. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing along the frames. A winter release was usually finished with a temporary white coat over the base camouflage, so the whitewash technique suggests itself: let the base camouflage dry, spray a thin coat of white and once dry carefully sand or wipe it off at the exposed places, so that the color underneath shows through. The resulting wear looks credible and gives the model depth. Emphasize the dusting of the leading edges and the skis with light pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
