A set of laser-cut palm leaves from the Czech maker Eduard, from its line of scenic accessories. The subject is the palm species Howea Belmoreana, so the shape of the pinnate leaves matches the real plant. It is not a kit but an accessory for bringing tropical and subtropical dioramas, display cases and bases to life.
The individual leaves are popped out of the sheet, shaped and set onto a trunk or straight into the scene. Combining several leaves gives a faithful palm crown. The pinnate leaves can be bent slightly so that the growth looks natural and three-dimensional.
Glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fine-tune the shade with modeling paints or pencils, from fresh green to dry edges. For a realistic palm, choose leaves of different lengths and turn them out to the sides and slightly downward.
