Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the Czechoslovak light fortification model 37 in 1:72 scale from the Czech association ROP o.s., which has long devoted itself to models of fortification works. This form captures the type D work in the D1 variant in the reinforced (more resistant) version.
The light works of model 37, nicknamed ropiks after the Directorate of Fortification Works, were built by the thousand along the borders of Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 1930s. Small reinforced concrete pillboxes with machine gun armament formed continuous lines of works covering one another by fire. They were built in several types according to the direction of fire and in a normal or a reinforced version - reinforced works had thicker walls and roof for greater resistance to artillery. Thousands of them still stand in the Czech and Slovak countryside today and they are among the best known monuments of the defense of the republic in 1938.
Concrete surfaces respond well to layered painting: a light gray base, irregular lightening of the surfaces, a brown-gray wash in the joints and fine pigments at the foot of the structure. Pick out the embrasures and the entrance with a dark shade. The work looks beautiful in a small diorama with grass scatter, and can be completed with figures or vehicles in 1:72 scale.
The model is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
