A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale with markings for the British prototype fighter Martin-Baker MB-5 in the test configuration associated with the Boscombe Down aircraft test establishment. The decals serve to mark a model; the aircraft model itself is not included in the package.

The real subject

The Martin-Baker MB-5 was a British single-seat piston-engine fighter prototype of the end of the Second World War, powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine with contra-rotating propellers. Despite its excellent flying qualities the machine never reached series production. Test flights and evaluation took place among other places at the British aircraft test establishments.

Use

• apply the decals onto a smooth, preferably gloss varnished surface
• cut out the decal in question, dip it in water for a few seconds and slide it onto the model
• adjust the position and blot the excess water away gently, then let it dry
• to prevent silvering, use a decal softener and varnish over it
