This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Japanese company Fine Molds covers the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter aircraft in the G-6 version, in the service of the Regia Aeronautica. It is a boxing built on the proven Bf 109 molds of this manufacturer, complemented by decals for Italian markings. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Bf 109 G-6 was the most numerously built version of the whole Bf 109 range. It was powered by a liquid-cooled inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine and is told from the older versions above all by the prominent covers over the weapons in the forward fuselage, which modelers call the bulges. The aircraft flew in many modifications and weapon fits; Italian units took it over in the later part of the Second World War and used it as a fighter with their own system of national insignia and tactical markings.
The parts are small, so cut them off the sprue with a sharp scalpel or with nippers and sand the remains of the gates with a file. Finish and paint the cockpit and the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together. Use a thin cement for plastic, which is drawn into the seam by capillary action. Lay down a primer before spraying, build the camouflage up with an airbrush in thin coats and varnish the surfaces with gloss varnish before the decals. The frames of the cockpit canopy are managed best with masking tape cut into strips or with pre-cut masks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
