An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fighter MiG-23MLD in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda. The model has engraved panel lines and captures the characteristic variable-geometry wing, which on the real aircraft can be set to several sweep positions. The package holds the plastic parts and waterslide decals.
The MiG-23 (NATO code name Flogger) was a Soviet single-seat supersonic fighter with one engine and a variable-geometry wing, brought into service around 1970. The MLD version was the most advanced fighter variant, with improved aerodynamics, radar and fire control system and the ability to carry modern air-to-air guided missiles. The Flogger served with the air forces of the Soviet Union and of a number of friendly states.
Use a thin cement for plastic and finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Decide beforehand whether you will glue the wing in the spread or in the swept position. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; Soviet machines typically wear gray and green-brown camouflage. Finish the external stores separately and glue them on at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
