A decal sheet in 1:72 scale with markings for the Japanese Nakajima B5N2 Type 97 carrier torpedo bombers on the theme of the attack on Pearl Harbor. A separate decal set; a kit is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals in 1:72 scale with markings for Japanese carrier aircraft of the Nakajima B5N2 Type 97. The sheet was published by ROP o.s. and the theme is the attack on Pearl Harbor. The decals supplement or replace the markings supplied with a kit; the model itself is not part of the package.
The Nakajima B5N2, known to the Allies by the code name Kate, was a three-seat carrier aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with folding wings and retractable landing gear that could carry a torpedo or bombs slung under the fuselage. In December 1941 machines of this type took part in the attack on the Hawaiian base of Pearl Harbor.
Decals hold best on a smooth gloss surface. First coat the area underneath them with clear gloss varnish and let it dry. Cut the individual items out together with the backing paper, dip them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and leave them to rest until they will slide off the paper. Once they are in place, blot the excess water away and finally unify the finished model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. The exact procedure and the recommended softener are given in the instructions supplied.
The sheet will be appreciated by a modeler who is building Imperial Japanese Navy subjects of the first year of the war in the Pacific and wants to set the model apart from the version supplied by the kit manufacturer.
The package contains only the decals. A kit, paints, varnishes and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
