The SX-Art 1:72 masking set for the B-52 Stratofortress is a pre-cut accessory for painting a kit of this heavy strategic bomber. It is not a model but an aid for masking.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking accessory for a kit, not a model. The pre-cut masks are applied to the plastic parts and protect them while paint is sprayed. The set is cut for the Modelcollect B-52 kit in 1:72 scale — before buying, check that this is the one you are building, because the individual versions of the machine differ markedly in their glazing and details.
The B-52 Stratofortress is an American eight-engine heavy bomber with underslung engine nacelles and a swept wing of great span. It entered service in the 1950s and, in modernized versions, still flies today, which makes it one of the longest-serving military aircraft of all. A model in 1:72 scale is a demanding project in terms of size: the large areas call for an even coat of paint and the glazing of the flight deck has complex framing that is hard to mask by hand.
On a large model, plan your work: mask the glazing before you assemble the whole fuselage. Lay the mask on dry with tweezers and press it down with a soft wooden stick from the center outwards. Spray the frames first in the interior shade and then in the external shade. Spray extensive areas with an airbrush in thin overlapping passes so that no stripes appear; lift the mask off shortly after it has dried, at a shallow angle. Separate the light undersides and the dark upper shades into separate steps.
This is an accessory for a model, not the model itself. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
