The sand Italian Sand Light Stone FS33448 from Lifecolor is a light yellow-brown tone. On construction and material handling machinery it works both as a factory finish and as the color of settled dust.
Responsibility details are not available.
On a building site a light sandy yellow is at home twice over. Once as the company color of the machines, and again as the color of everything that settles on them: cement dust, crushed aggregate and dried soil. This shade lies between sand and light stone, so it behaves naturally in both roles and does not slide toward orange. The number in the name is a reference to the American Federal Standard color standard.
Light tones behave treacherously on a model: under harsh light they even out and the surface loses its articulation. It helps to break it up along the real structure: leave the edges of the boom, the ribs and the rims a shade darker, and lighten the middle of the areas instead. On a machine that works in dust the paint also disappears gradually under the deposit from the bottom upward, so treat the lower parts as a smooth transition rather than a sharp boundary. Then handle the worn places on the bucket and the edges of the blade with a bright metallic tone; the contrast against the light yellow-sand surface is one of the strongest effects on the whole model.
For builders of excavators, loaders, dump trucks and material handling machinery, and for modelers who assemble dusty weathering from several light tones instead of a single layer.
Store the paint out of the reach of children and work in a well-ventilated space.
