A set of masks for painting a model of the MiG-29 in 1:72 scale, according to the name cut for a kit from the Zvezda brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-29 is a twin-engine fighter aircraft of Soviet design, recognized by its two vertical tails, the high-set wing with pronounced leading-edge root extensions and the separate air intakes under the fuselage. It has served and serves with dozens of air forces, so a great many different camouflage schemes and national markings are available for it. On a model the dominant feature is the cabin with its large glazing, which painting spoils most easily.
Pre-cut masks for painting a model in 1:72 scale. The masks are stuck onto the parts of the model, cover the areas that are meant to stay without paint and are lifted off after spraying, so that the edge is sharp and does not have to be corrected with a brush. According to the name the set is cut for a kit from the Zvezda brand, which matters when buying: the masks are based on the shapes of a particular kit and need not fit another one. The scope of the masks is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
First wash and degrease the surface; on a greasy part the mask will not hold and paint will run under it. Always stick the masks on before spraying, never onto a finished coat. Press the edges down carefully with a blunt tip and check them against the light. Spray in thin layers; one heavy layer will leave an edge at the rim of the mask. Lift the mask off while the paint has freshly dried, and lead it at an angle across the edge, not straight away from the surface.
The masks themselves are supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
