This item is not a model but a set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the Czech publisher ROP o.s. It will complete a kit of the Polikarpov I-16 Rata fighter with the markings of machines that fell into the hands of the opposing side during the Spanish Civil War and flew in its colors. It holds national insignia, tactical numbers and the personal emblems of captured aircraft.
The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet low-wing monoplane with a radial engine and retractable landing gear, delivered to Spain in support of the Republican side. Its opponents nicknamed it the Rata, the Republican side the Mosca. A number of machines were captured during the war and committed again with new markings, which makes them a rewarding and unusual subject for modelers.
Coat the surface under the decals with gloss varnish so that the edges do not turn white. Dip the subject in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it onto the model. A decal softener will help the decal wrap around detail, and a final coat of varnish will even the surface out.
This is a decal set, not a model. A separate I-16 kit in 1:72 scale is needed to use it. The paints, the glue and the varnish are not included in the package.
