Eleven markings for the Tiger heavy tank in 1:72 scale. Vehicles from Italy, Ukraine, Normandy and Belgium cover the winter and the spring of 1944 on four different battlefields.
Responsibility details are not available.
Few sheets offer such a spread. The vehicles on this sheet moved from Rome by way of Anzio and Nettuno to the muddy roads of Ukraine, to snow-covered Belgium and from there into the Normandy hedgerows, and all of that within a few months. For a modeler it mainly means freedom in the choice of terrain and dusting: one sheet lets you build a vehicle in a winter, a spring or a summer setting without repeating a unit.
The list starts with a machine carrying turret number 3, which operated in Rome in March 1944, and continues with vehicles numbered 301 and 233 from the Eastern Front in February of the same year. Next comes a vehicle marked with a single letter from the Tarnopol area in April 1944, a pair of machines from Normandy in June, a pair from Ukraine in the winter at the turn of 1943 and 1944, a vehicle from the Anzio and Nettuno area and two vehicles from Belgium in January 1944.
If you are only starting out, go for a vehicle with a short one-digit or two-digit number: it is easier to place and you do not have to line up three characters exactly. A more experienced builder will be better pleased by a vehicle from the Belgian winter, where worn white paint can be combined with the base coat showing through and the markings then have to be worked around laboriously.
