AML night fighters Hurricane Mk.I and Defiant Mk.I — exhausts (Part II) 1:72 is a resin set of six-stub exhaust manifolds for models of British night fighters. It is a detail accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from the Czech manufacturer AML holds six-stub exhaust manifolds for models of the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I and Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I night fighters. It is the second part (Part II) of this line of exhausts. With the resin parts you replace the exhausts on a base plastic model and gain more accurate and more three-dimensional engine detail. The set is an accessory for plastic models of these aircraft in 1:72 scale from other manufacturers; the aircraft itself is not part of the package.
The Hurricane Mk.I and the two-seat Defiant Mk.I were among the British fighters deployed during the Battle of Britain and in the night defense of Great Britain in 1940 and 1941. Night fighter aircraft were modified among other things in exactly the shape and shrouding of the exhausts, so that the glare would not disturb the pilot in the dark.
Separate the fine resin exhausts from the casting blocks carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. A drill bit or a micro burr helps to suggest the openings of the exhausts. Wash the mold release agent off the parts first and paint them in a dark metal shade, followed by weathering for the realistic look of burnt exhausts.
The detail set is only an accessory. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
