About product

Airone Hobby Reggiane Re.2001 Fabric Effect Airbrush Masks (1:72)

This is a set of self-adhesive painting masks in 1:72 scale from Airone Hobby. It is not a model or a decal sheet but a painting aid: the masks let you spray a fine shaded pattern onto the moving control surfaces that imitates taut fabric stretched over a rib structure. The model then gets a convincing fabric effect without painting it line by line with a brush.

How it is used

  • The masks are applied to the vertical tail, the rudder, the elevators and the ailerons according to the shape of each surface.
  • A slightly darker or lighter shade is sprayed lightly over the mask and creates the shadow in the hollows of the covering.
  • Once the mask is peeled off, a fine structure of taut fabric is left on the surfaces.
  • An airbrush at low pressure and thinned paint in thin coats give the best result.

Who the set is for

  • For modelers building the Reggiane Re.2001 in 1:72 scale who want to bring out the fabric-covered surfaces.
  • For anyone interested in realistic effects without laborious hand shading.

The set contains only the masks. Paints, an airbrush and the model are not included in the package.

FAQ

Once the paint is sprayed over it, a fine shadow appears on the control surfaces that imitates taut fabric over a rib structure, known as the fabric effect.

No, it is a set of painting masks, that is an accessory for painting. The model itself and the paints are not included.
