A figure set in 1:72 scale with pilots of the South Korean aerobatic team Black Eagles. Intended for airplane models and airfield scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Black Eagles are the aerobatic team of the Republic of Korea Air Force, familiar to anybody who visits the big air shows. What modelers value about them is the tight look of the whole display: identical aircraft, identical flying suits, precisely aligned formations. Pilot figures therefore belong with a model from this setting just as much as the airplane itself.
These are pilot figures in 1:72 scale. That is the most widespread aircraft scale, so the set will find a use with a large share of airplane models and also in small dioramas where the area around the machine needs filling. The number of figures, their poses and the extent of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions and illustration. Use the illustration to decide whether the poses suit the scene you have in mind, because a standing and a seated figure cannot be swapped for one another.
Figures in 1:72 stand a little over two centimeters tall, so work on them over a tray and preferably hold them in tweezers; a part dropped on a carpet is gone for good. Fill and sand the joints so that they do not appear once painted. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. In this scale what counts is clean color areas and a clear transition between the flying suit, the helmet and the boots; painting eyes into the face makes no sense, a hint of shadow under the helmet is enough.
It suits builders of 1:72 airplanes who want to show the crew with the model, and builders of airfield scenes, where the figures are the main reference for the scale of the whole setting. The airplane model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
