An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. The model represents the Chinese-built version of the famous Soviet MiG-15 fighter, designated J-2. It is a classic, straightforward tooling suitable for less experienced modelers as well. The package contains plastic sprues and decals for Chinese aircraft; the exact contents are given on the packaging.
After the MiG-15 entered Soviet service, the People's Republic of China also took up production of this fighter. The aircraft served with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and carried domestic designations. Structurally it is the same swept-wing jet fighter with a powerful engine and cannon armament that was among the world's best in the early 1950s. The Chinese version is interesting for its different markings and color schemes, which set the model apart from the usual Soviet aircraft.
Assemble the cockpit and the landing gear and mask the glazing before painting. Bond the plastic with a liquid modeling cement and sand the fuselage joints down. A metal finish comes into its own on a smooth base; stir the metallic paint thoroughly and spray it with an airbrush at the end. Pay attention to the correct placement of the Chinese markings according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
