A colored photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard aimed at the interior of a plastic model of the four-engine Short Sunderland Mk.V flying boat in 1:72 scale. The set holds parts of thin metal sheet, a number of them pre-painted and self-adhesive. It is not an aircraft kit or a finished model, but an accessory for a base plastic kit.
The set sharpens up the interior spaces of the large flying boat, such as the cockpit, the instrument panels, the seat harness, the bulkheads and the interior equipment. Thanks to the extensive glazing of the Sunderland the interior is clearly visible once the model is built, so the detail tells markedly.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and make the folds over the edge of a razor blade or in a bender. The pre-painted self-adhesive parts only need to be laid in place, while the bare parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Fit and paint the interior before the fuselage is closed, while the access is good.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
