Peewit 1:72 SIAI SF-260 is a set of pre-cut masking stencils of kabuki paper for a model of the Italian trainer in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut self-adhesive masks of kabuki paper meant for a model of the SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 trainer and light combat aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a replacement part: the masks cover the glazing and other areas that are to stay clean after spraying, and the laborious painting of frames with a brush falls away. The cut is prepared for one particular Kovozavody Prostejov kit.
The SF.260 is an Italian all-metal low-wing monoplane with a piston engine, designed as a fast trainer and aerobatic machine with very good flying qualities. Thanks to low running costs it spread to a number of countries, and in lightly armed versions it also served for basic combat training. What is typical for the modeler is the large glazed canopy reaching far to the rear and striking training schemes with bold color stripes and numbers.
With a canopy this large it pays to stick the masks on in sections and keep checking that no air bubble is forming under the paper. Degrease the clear parts before sticking; rinsing them in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and letting them dry freely is enough, and do not touch them with your fingers afterwards. If you plan bold color stripes, spray them over the base color and seal the edge beforehand with a thin coat of varnish, so that paint does not creep under the edge of the mask. Cover the areas outside the masks with ordinary masking tape or with masking fluid.
The package holds masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
