Responsibility details are not available.
A conversion set in cast resin in 1:72 scale that makes it possible to build from an ordinary plastic model the particular machine Spitfire LF Mk.IXe with the serial number SL632 in the form connected with Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. It is not a complete kit but an accessory that modifies selected parts of a model.
The Spitfire LF Mk.IXe was the low-altitude production mark with a Merlin with a two-stage supercharger, clipped wingtips and a revised layout of the armament. After the Second World War these machines appeared with several European operators; the Czechoslovak Air Force operated them from the second half of the 1940s and some of the aircraft later reached Yugoslavia as well. Individual examples differed in small ways that arose from repairs, rebuilds and maintenance in service, and it is exactly such deviations that conversion sets address, because they cannot be produced from a kit.
A conversion means cutting into the plastic, so plan the order of work in advance and do not glue parts of the model permanently before you know where the cutting will be. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and level the seating faces on abrasive paper laid on glass. Dry-fit and rather fill a seam with putty than force a part into place. It is bonded with super glue; once dry, sand the transition between plastic and resin and spray it with primer before painting, which evens the mismatched surface out.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
