The Stearman (Boeing) PT-17 Kaydet was an American trainer biplane with a radial engine on which thousands of pilots of the US Army Air Forces and Navy went through their basic flying training in the Second World War. It was tough, good-natured and forgiving of mistakes, which made it an iconic trainer; many examples still fly at air shows today.
