The most extensive of the LP Models resin sets for the Su-27 in 1:72 scale joins three elements of ground service: a boarding ladder to the pilot cabin in the late version, chocks under the wheels of the landing gear and a service ladder, which ground personnel use when working on the fuselage and on the engine section. It is not a kit of the aircraft; there is no model in the package. The difference between the early and the late version of the ladder is not described, so compare the shape with the documentation on the machine you are building.
The Su-27 is a single-seat twin-engined fourth-generation fighter aircraft which first flew in 1977. A machine that is parked is always accompanied by equipment: the cabin is high above the ground, the wheels are secured with chocks and service ladders are brought up for maintenance. It is precisely this set that makes it possible to build a scene with work going on at the aircraft, not just a model on a bare base. The combination of three elements at once is an advantage for a larger airfield diorama, where it makes sense to set the equipment out around the machine and complete it with figures.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the remnants of the mold release agent disappear, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, do not break them off, and protect your airways when sanding. They are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic will not join resin. The thin rungs of both ladders are fragile, so handle them with tweezers and apply the paint in thin layers after the primer. In color terms it usually works best when the ground equipment is set apart from the finish of the aircraft: dirty metal, chipped paint and a dusty patina move a scene toward reality.
