The most extensive LP Models set for the two-seat Su-27UB in 1:72 scale joins three elements of ground service: a boarding ladder to the tandem cabin in the late version, chocks under the wheels of the landing gear and a service ladder, which ground personnel use when working on the fuselage and the engine section. A model of the aircraft is not part of the package. The difference against the early version of the ladder is not described, so compare the shape with the documentation on the machine you are building.
The Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer version of the Su-27 with a tandem cabin and an enlarged vertical tail surface. On the apron there is always more equipment around a machine like this than usually appears on a model: a boarding ladder brought up, wheels secured and, during maintenance, service ladders at the fuselage as well. This set covers all three elements, so a whole scene can be built from it, not just one detail added. An ideal basis for an airfield diorama completed with figures of technicians.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water because of the remnants of the mold release agent, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, do not break them off, and protect your airways when sanding. They are glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. The thin rungs of both ladders are fragile; handle them with tweezers and apply the paint in thin layers after the primer. Ground equipment never looks new, so chipped paint, dirty metal, a dusty patina at the ground and a dark wash into the corners of the frames will move a scene toward reality more than a carefully smooth coat.
