Resin wheels for the early-form Sukhoi Su-24 Fencer in 1:72 scale from Armory replace the plastic landing gear parts with a more accurate casting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cast resin set intended to replace the landing gear wheels when building an Su-24 model in 1:72 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft nor a kit. The item matches the early form of the wheels, because on a type built over a long period the landing gear changed during production and modelers building a particular machine choose the form deliberately.
The Su-24 was a Soviet twin-engined tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing, brought into service from the 1970s. The crew consisted of two members sitting side by side and the machine was intended for flight at low altitude. Several versions were created, including a reconnaissance one, and the type was used for several decades, which means considerable differences between the early and late machines.
Resin is glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate; plastic cement does not attack it and the joint would give way at the first touch. To be safe, reinforce the joint with a drop of thicker gel cyanoacrylate and let it cure properly. Before that, wash the casting, cut off the casting block and level the surface. When painting, remember that on machines in service the contact patch of the tire tends to be lighter and smoother than the sidewalls; a fine dry brush handles that quickly.
An accessory for building a model, not a finished aircraft nor a kit of one. Paints, glue and the base model should be obtained separately.
