1:72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I,II Camouflage painting masks scheme B is a set of masks for spraying camouflage scheme B on early Spitfires.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masks for spraying the camouflage fields on a model of the British Spitfire fighter in the Mk.I and Mk.II versions, in 1:72 scale. It is not a model but a painting aid. The masks have the shape of the individual fields, so they are laid over a painted base, oversprayed with the second shade, and once they are removed an exact outline is left.
The British wartime camouflage of early fighters was drawn to two mirror-image patterns, designated A and B, so aircraft of the same type differed in the layout of the dark and light fields. This set covers variant B. The same manufacturer also offers a set for variant A, so before buying it is worth checking which scheme was carried by the aircraft you want to build.
Pick the masks up with tweezers and lay them on with a dry hand, as grease from your fingers spoils adhesion. Once a mask is stuck down, press the edge with a blunt tool so that paint cannot run under it. Spray in thin coats at right angles to the edge. Remove the masks as soon as the paint has set, pulling them back at an angle over themselves. In 1:72 scale work with tweezers and over a light surface, as a small cut-out is easily lost.
The set contains masks only. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
