A 1:72 masking set for the teardrop cockpit canopy of the Hawker Typhoon is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an aircraft model. The self-adhesive masks follow the shape of the glazing frames and prepare the cockpit for spraying.

This item is not a kit or a finished model. It is a set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Brengun that a modeler buys to go with the plastic kit named in the product title. The masks are cut to the shape of the individual glazing frames and serve to let the clear areas of the canopy be sprayed without laboriously cutting tape on the part itself. The variant is intended for the teardrop canopy, that is the later cockpit configuration without side doors.
First degrease the clear part and let it dry completely. Lift a mask off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay it on the appropriate frame and press it down with a soft wooden stick so that no bubble is left anywhere. It is recommended to spray the cockpit interior shade first and the outer top color only once that has dried, so that the frames look right from the inside. Lift the masks as soon as possible after the last coat has dried, while the edge of the paint is still soft; the edge then stays sharp and does not tear.
Cutting tape by hand on a curved canopy is slow and the edge tends to be irregular. Pre-cut masks hold the exact width of the frame along its whole length, which is clearly visible in a small scale and markedly raises the final standard of the model. Nor is there any need to touch up leftover areas of tape with a brush.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
