A set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale from Tetra Model Works, meant to refine a plastic kit of the American HEMTT M983 heavy tractor together with the launching station of the Patriot system in the PAC-3 version. It is not a kit in itself but an accessory that replaces the coarser plastic parts with thin metal ones.
The M983 is a variant from the family of American HEMTT heavy off-road trucks with 8x8 drive. Among other duties it serves as the tractor for the trailer carrying the launching station of the Patriot air defense system. The PAC-3 version carries canisters with interceptor missiles meant to destroy ballistic as well as airborne targets.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a mat, make the bends with a bending tool or a metal ruler and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). In the small 1:72 scale, work with tweezers. Degrease and apply a primer for metal before painting.
The set holds photo-etched accessory parts only. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
